Prom Photography at Reynolda
Consider this your how-to guide for capturing the best prom photography memories at Reynolda. The Reynolds family members have been known to love a good time so we know just how special this day is for local high school students and their families.
We’ve removed the guesswork and hand-selected stunning vignettes across the historic grounds so that you can have a game plan to still make it to your main event on time!
Your cooperation helps us to preserve these historic grounds for generations to come.
We sincerely wish an amazing #Prom2025 season to all of the local high schools and be sure to tag #Reynolda in your photos on social media.
Find Your Vista
Historic House Front Lawn

Channel the Roaring 20s era on the sprawling front lawn with the family’s 34,000-square-foot bungalow as your backdrop. Constructed in 1917, it’s the perfect setting to capture stunning architecture, rich history and nature all in one place.
Where to Park: We suggest using Lots B and C on busier Museum weekends as Lot A fills pretty quickly.
Meadow / Boardwalk

Capture the beauty of spring and an aura of serenity when you choose the boardwalk or adjacent meadow. Keep in mind that you will need to park closer to the Museum and Gardens entrance then walk back up the paved driveway to the trails to access this location. We recommend building in an additional half-hour to accommodate the walk to and from, but well worth this “off the beaten path” photo opp!
Where to Park: Lots A or B
Reynolda Village

From fountains to flower beds and tucked away benches on the hillside, Reynolda Village has a variety of locations that make for the perfect photo opp. One fan favorite is the flower-lined gazebo between Monkee’s and McCalls.
Please be mindful of cars and considerate of those who are in the Village to shop and dine.
Where to Park: There are designated lots throughout the Village. Please see the map for additional details.
Waterfall / Dam

Did you know there is a waterfall in the heart of Winston-Salem? This vista requires a short walk from Reynolda Village and down a grassy (maybe a bit muddy) hill. Pro tip: wear tennis shoes or sandals for photos in this location as not to ruin your special occassion attire. Remember to build in additional time for walking to this location.
Where to Park: Choose one of the designated parking lots in Reynolda Village. We recommend finding a lot closer to the northern side of the Village near Wake Forest University. You will then take the Reynolda Walking Trail and once you come to the bridge over the dam, walk down the hill on your left to the waterfall.
