Art and Community Tour Description
3rd and 4th grade
This tour explores local history in Winston-Salem through Katharine and R.J. Reynolds, the project of Reynolda, and the people who lived and worked on the early 20th century estate. Focuses on change over time. While learning about community at Reynolda, students will also explore works of art related to ideas of community.

Learning objectives: Students who experience an Art & Community tour will be able to
- describe the basic history and context of Reynolda, along with the roles some of the Reynolds family, Babcock family and employees
- name the ways the people of Reynolda contributed to the local community
- identify what communities need and what of those Reynolda had
- practice visual literacy skills of observation and interpretation, especially while thinking about change over time
