Art & Architecture Tour Description
3rd – 12th grades
Students observe and analyze the architecture of Reynolda House as an American Country Place of the early twentieth century, identifying neoclassical decoration as well as design and structural aspects of the 1917 building. Students will engage in close-looking with works of art including architectural features as well.

Learning objectives: Students who experience an Art & Architecture tour will be able to
- define some basic architectural terminology in relation to Reynolda
- explain how Katharine Reynolds’s interest in health played out in choices she made for her house
- practice visual literacy skills of observation and interpretation, especially considering the relationship of form and function and with works of art
