Piedmont Ecology Tour Description
5th grade
This program focuses on the Piedmont ecosystem. Ecosystems include our wetland, meadow, ponds, streams, and woodland trail. The visit includes a walk in the formal gardens and on the woodland trail. This program can either be a comparative look at different ecosystems or a deeper exploration of one (for example, see a Morning in the Meadow).
Meets NC Standard Course of Study: LS.5.2.1, LS.5.2.3, ESS.5.1.4, LS.5.2.2, LS.5.2.3 + Science & Engineering Practices (SEPs) embedded throughout

Available: September, October, March, April and May
