Location: Reynolda House and Gardens
Cost: $10 Youth | $8 Members and Friends of Reynolda Gardens at the Family level or above
Join us in the Gardens to learn more about the natural world around us. Each session will engage a young naturalist in hands-on learning as we closely study a topic while enjoying the Gardens and Grounds of Reynolda.
At each session, Reynolda Young Explorers earn a new “badge” and take home a field guide.

For ages 2 – 5 and their caregivers. All workshops are held 10 – 11 a.m.

Wednesday, February 25: Citrus Fruits | Register Now
Children will explore the Brown Family Conservatory’s orangerie room and engage in a sensory exploration of citrus fruits grown at Reynolda.
Wednesday, March 18: Daffodils | Register Now
Discover Reynolda’s Daffodil Island while learning more about this bulb and have an opportunity to explore with this and other bulbs planted at Reynolda.
Wednesday, March 25: Cherry Blossoms | Register Now
Our young learners will admire the cherry blossoms blooming on the Cherry Allèe as we learn the history behind our cherry trees.
Wednesday, April 29: May Day and Peonies | Register Now
Celebrate May Day early as we dance around the peonies and create May Day baskets to share with friends and neighbors.
Wednesday, May 13: Worms of Reynolda | Register Now
Learn more about the worm farm at Reynolda and why we have one. Children will also help prepare “breakfast” for our worms.
Wednesday, July 8: Tadpoles and Frogs | Register Now
Through observation and interactive experiences, children will explore tadpoles and frogs in the wetlands of Reynolda!
Wednesday, July 22: Butterflies at Reynolda | Register Now
Through guided observation and hands-on discovery, children will explore the fascinating life cycle of butterflies at Reynolda. From tiny eggs to fluttering wings, Young Explorers will uncover how caterpillars grow and change.
Registration is required; participants will receive an email prior to the program with the location for each. Programs are weather permitting.
Reynolda may take photos for archival and promotional reasons during the program.
If you do not want your child photographed, please email the program leader, Janie Bass, at janie@reynolda.org in advance of the program.
For children ages 2-5, accompanied by an adult.
